Super cool! Box integration and email upload
We use Box.com to store and collaborate on files with both internal and external colleagues.
If you do too, here are two cool features you may not know about.
1) You can "attach" files stored on Box to your SmartSheet row. When a user clicks on the link to open the file, a new browser window opens inside of which Box opens the file to preview mode.
But wait, there's more! Even if/when the file is moved in Box, the SmartSheet link continues to work!
2) Box allows you to upload files by email. So now I have SmartSheet emailing PDF reports to Box folders on a recurring basis. This way my Box collaborators are not getting emails from SmartSheet but have access to the latest report via their access to Box.

IS this unique to box, or can it be donewiththe other services? Dropbox, OneDrive, GoogleDrive?

I don't know as I don't use those.

Dave,
I tried this and can send files from my computer to Box. But the smartsheets have not shown up yet. How long should it take for them to get sent?
I can send the attachment to my email and get it right away. But Box has not received it yet, or ...
Thanks,

Tim,
Your second guess is correct. In Box, go to the target folder's properties, scroll down to Email Uploads and make sure "Only allow email uploads from collaborators in this folder" is NOT checked.

I found my error. I did not add smartsheet as a collaborator in my Box folder! Is there a way to add smartsheet as a collaborator? Or, maybe I should allow uploads from non-collaborators.?

Thanks, works like a charm now!!

Glad I could help! One last trick in this vein. Now that you have the folder's email address for the upload, you can create a contact in your email client and upload via email without having to open Box. Just use the folder name for the contact's first name, leave the last name blank and add the upload email address.
