Hi,
I'm not able to get the sum children to calculate on the parent column and still showing a zero amount. Any suggestions?
It looks like the numbers are formatted as text. Can you check?
Have a fantastic day!

Are the green rows indented under the Total row? They are not considered children unless they are indented.
You might also need to ensure that dependencies are enabled.
Andree, I believe they are formatted as numbers since they are left justified (unless they were manually changed to be that way).
I would have to start with Dan's suggestion of making sure the rows are actually indented.
I think the issue is in the numbers formatting. It's probably the multiple commas/punctuations that are throwing it of.
What's the formula in the parent?
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some more screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
Have a fantastic weekend!

Paul,
I think you're right and I think it's the formatting of the numbers that don't work.
Andree, I have quite a few sheets that have punctuation in the numbers, and they calculate just fine. The only way I can get the commas to display is by using the comma button in the tool bar. If I manually enter a comma while typing in a number, it is displayed without it.
It's different depending on the region, so it's probably not the same. Can you have commas and punctuations at the same time in your number cells?
The only punctuation I can use in a number cell are commas and decimals. Anything else or multiple decimals will register as text.
If I manually type "1,000.00" and then hit Enter, it will display "1000".
I have to use the buttons on the toolbar in the screenshot I posted above to have the comma(s) and decimal displayed. Even then it still works as numbers when used in formulas/calculations and stays right justified.
Has anyone figured out a way to use a column as a created date but not have the time stamp? It causes problems for my manager trying to use that date to pull into PBI. I know how to convert in a helper column to a year-month and a year, but those have to be text/number columns, not date columns and he can't use those…
I am looking for a way to automate a cell so that when column A displays 9 'Days Open' (or between the values 0-14) the 'Req Age' will auto populate (or trigger) the ranges provided. Image below: I want the highlighted section to auto populate based on the value in 'Days Open'
Good morning, I haven't needed to do this is quit a while but I went to clean up the "Sheets" folder in my account and can no longer create a folder, sheet, or report in any area of that folder. The "Create" button at the top right takes me the templates page. This is what I am seeing vs what I can do within a workspace.…
