Count Rows from a report, not sheet
Comments

Billy,
Currently, reports do not exist in the same way as sheet does. It is a view generated on demand. I can certainly see the benefit in a report on the report, so to speak and would add my vote to such a request.

I have added both your votes for this request! Thank you for the suggestion

I vote for this as well! I would like to be able to count an instance on a report and then have it be a metric on a sight.

Hello,
Any updates on this request? I'd like to vote on this request to be bumped up!

I agree, this would be a great function when gathering data for a Dashboard.

Greetings,
Creating a dashboard widget which gives a count based on a report seems like it should be a really common request.
Is there some way of organizing sheets I'm unaware of which would allow for a similar at-a-glance dashboard view without needing to get counts from a report?
The fundamental problem that I see is:
(1) Reports are the only way to aggregate data from multiple sheets (unless you create a sheet and manually link to the others, which would be onerous if you had large numbers of them).
(2) Reports can't give counts (or include other formulae)
therefore:
(3) It's not possible to automatically aggregate info from multiple sheets and then get statistics about the results.
Is this understanding possibly right? What am I missing?
Thanks!

Is there any update on when this will be introduced? It would be very useful and I am actually very surprised that such a function does not exist, considering how intuitive the rest of the solution is.

Another vote from me. This is currently the only thing that I´m struggling with using Smartsheet.
I just need a dashboard with qty of projects, total, open, closed, and right now is very manual.
If formulas are not possible with report, at least it would be good to access the parameter number of rows and show it in a dashboard.
Thanks!

Would love to see this function added. Seems like a highly requested feature.

Hello everyone -
any updates on this? you guys also have my vote...
-
Another vote from me.
Looking forward to this feature.

This would be a great feature. I had to download a report into Excel then reupload it as a sheet in order to get counts to be displayed on a dashboard, however when you do that all functionality is lost which defeats the purpose of the integrated capabilities of the sheets. In doing so every time a change is made my metrics will change and I will have to manually update the data.
is this something that the dev team has started to look into? Thanks.

I would love to see this feature as well!

++ on this.
