Feature Request: Switch, Vlookup, and/or Lookup Functions

Please add one or more of the following functions: switch, vlookup, and/or lookup. Note that this would make it easier to reference rate categories in a rate table without having to use a huge nested if function.

    Alex,

I and others would also like to have this formula in Smartsheet. You can find a couple of threads on the topic. In this one Travis (Community Manager) wrote in past December that "our developers are currently working on a new formula engine which will include more powerful and useful formulas and will likely include VLOOKUP."ย

    So we can hope.ย

    +1 vote, anyway.

Atus is correct! This is something we are working onย Laughing

    VLOOKUP is so limited! ย

    ย

How about the INDEX and MATCH functions? ย That gives lookup abilities, and will enable a multitude of things that VLOOKUP doesn't!

  • Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that LOOKUP formulas can now be used in Smartsheet, as long as the lookup table is on the same sheet as the LOOKUP function. We are working to make this function work across separate sheets, however this will not be available until a future update. You can find out more about using all of the new functions in this release in ourย Help Center. We have also released INDEX and MATCH functions, Brandon :)

I see this requirement as one of the most fundamental omissions from Smartsheets. Being able to retrieve data from other sheet based on a value in a current sheet is essential and gating adoption across ten of thousands of users. My organization alone has 30,000 people and will remain within the confines of excell.ย

    Please priortiize this functionality.

Add my vote and I can safely say I represent at least 100 others in my company

Hi there, can anyone shed light on the progress of v-lookup across multipe sheets?

This is a really important feature for our business and will take our smartsheet to the next level.ย

I just want to second, or third, this request to have v-lookup across multiple sheets. ย This is a major feature to so many things my group works. ย This should be a HIGH priority, if it was up to me.

    ย

    Thanks

  • Hi all-- As I mentioned above, this is something our Development team is hoping to release in a future update but we do not have a release date at this point. Thanks for your feedback!

Kennedy, any update on the VLOOKUP functionality. So many users are anxilusly waiting. We really need this to take our use to the next level.

Hi Kennedy, I was hoping you had an update on this feature (may I hope, even a release date? smiley). I'm new to Smartsheet and would love to incorporate a LOOKUP feature over two sheets.

    Thanks, Joanneย

VLOOKUP is so important to be able to run all requirements in Smartsheet. By having the LOOKUP embeded in the worksheet takes too many rows away from actual data.

Please add my vote for VLOOKUP to be added to SmartSheet.

Any update on using Lookup across sheets?

  • You can now reference data from other sheets in formulas!

Create a master lookup table sheet and use VLOOKUP to find dataย on another sheet.

More information on this new feature is available in our help center:ย https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476606-formulas-reference-data-from-other-sheets
