Insert Image Into Report Cell

Now that it is possible to insert an image directly into a Sheet cell, can this functionality be extended to a Report, so that the image gets inserted onto the underlying Sheet cell?

My organization would really benefit from having the functionality to insert an image into a report cell. Has this functionality been looked into at all? The original post is from 2016.
