I'd like to reformat a report on a SIGHT board, i.e. make text smaller to avoid an expanded column in the view. Is there a way to lock the column widths? The default is too big and the imported report won't resize.
thanks!
Hi Sara,
The Report widget uses the formatting of the underlying report. If you resize columns in the underlying report, those widths will be reflected in the widget. You can also format text & cells in the underlying sheets, and that will show in the widget as long as you set "Formatting: Keep" in the widget (which is the default setting).
Hope this helps!
Hi Daniel,
I'm having the issue that my far right column is not retaining it's width as I've set in the report. I have "Formatting: Keep" selected. It defaults to much wider. Is this a known bug?
Hi Suzanna,
We intentionally expand the last row in the report widget to fill the width of the widget if there is extra space -- otherwise the widget would have an unused gap at the end, which doesn't tend to look good.
We realize that having the last column become much larger than desired also isn't optimal. We are working on widget sizing granularity improvements that will allow you to more precisely size widgets exactly the way you want.
Let us know if you have additional questions or feedback.
Thanks!Daniel
Related, is there a way to resize the Report widget?
No matter the size of the Report, it appears to be a fixed size in Sights and unlike the Metrics Widget, I'm unable to resize the Report widget.
Hi Tom,
Yes there is. Please see my attached picture.
I hope this helps you!
Best,
Andrée
Thanks again Andrèe. I see it now once I had a sheet that didn't have columns that rolled off the screen; otherwise, the corner wasn't visible or actionable.
Happy to help, again!
