How about introducng the conept of targeted comms within Smartsheet. For example if you @ mention a collaborator anywhere within a sheet they will receive some form of notification either via email or a pop-up within Smartsheet.

Sounds like a good idea but there could be a risk of information overload then everyone stops listening/watching, so only if it can be carefully controlled?
