"Trace Dependents"

Hello Community,

Excel has this "Trace Dependents" function which enables to know if (and where) a cell is refered in another cell formula.

I can see that when a cell is further used in a smartsheet formula, the cell has tiny black/blue arrow.

But I struggle to know the cell dependance.

Any clue ?

Hi tfassnacht,

When a cell is being referenced in a formula on another sheet you'll see a black outbound arrow. If you select the the hyperlink after "Formula used on", you'll see the cell containing the formula.

When a cell contains a formula that's referencing cells in another sheet, you'll see a blue inbound arrow. To see all of the cells referenced by the formula, you'll want to select the hyperlink after "Edit reference".

In addition...

Cells that are referenced on the SAME sheet do not have an indicator other than when you are editing the cell containing the formula. Then you will see cells/ranges outlined in the corresponding color as the reference in the formula.

Hi, in addition to the above, is there a way to see if a column is used in a report or dashboard by any chance?
