Test case Smartsheets

We're going into UAT soon. I've chosen Smartsheets to put all the test cases the testers need to run. Some things I'm wondering about - hopefully all of you ppl smarter then me can help:

1. I imagine that I will need multiple sheets right? Each tester will run the same end-to-end set of tests and record pass/fail/defects. How could they all do it on the same sheet, right?

2. I also see that I can use Report to have all relevant (Fails, Defects, Status) roll up to that Report from all sheets.

Am I thinking about this right? THANKS. Time-sensitive!

    Hi,

    1. Both options are possible, and the best would depend on your structure and specifics.

    • Will the testers do each test in one run or would they need to be able to start a test, pause and come back later again to continue?
    • Will they do the tests on a computer, tablet, or smartphone?
    • How many different testers will there be?

    .

    2. Reports and maybe in combination with a dashboard would work excellent, I think.

    .

My recommendation from my assumptions would be to either use one sheet for everything or one sheet per tester, and if possible, I would use forms to fill in each test.

    .

What do you think? Would that work?

    Hope that helps!

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  • Did this work? I am looking to do the same thing. Would like to have testers fill in forms to complete the script, then have all the data populate into one sheet that I can run reports from. Would each step in the script be a Seperate form?

    Hi @Sandra Healey

I'd recommend starting with a form and then continue with Update Requests as needed.

    Make sense?

    Would that work?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!
