If then formula to check a box when another column contains text

Hi,

Can anyone help me with a If then formula? I have been trying several things and haven't had any luck.

I need to write an IF then formula for the below:

Column A checkbox is checked when Column B contains text (any text).

Does anyone know what this formula would be?

Hi Crystal,

Try something like this.

=IF(NOT(ISBLANK(B@row)); 1)

The same version but with the below changes for your and others convenience.

=IF(NOT(ISBLANK(B@row)), 1)

Depending on your country you’ll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.

Try this... I added to look for both text or a number as I wasn't clear what would be in the column. Replace my column names:

=IF(OR(ISTEXT([Your Column]@row), ISNUMBER([Your Column]@row)), 1)
