I would like to know how to calculate the% of progress that would correspond to a cut-off date.
In the MS Project it would correspond to the "Status Date".
Has anyone had any similar situation and been able to solve it?

There currently isn't a way to automatically calculate the % Complete \based on date —the % Complete column needs to be manually filled in.
When you have a moment, submit a Product Enhancement Request to let our Product team know that you'd like to have this functionality in Smartsheet.
