date constraints in Smartsheet

@Kadin Olson Feel free to drop a link to your idea here so others that are searching for it can find it easily if this thread happens to pop up in their searches.
And there are a ton of posts here in the Community. It makes more sense to have a dedicated idea space rather than trying to have a team scour every single post every single day.

Hi @Kadin Olson
I just wanted to hop in here and let you know that your idea has not been removed; there's already an Idea gathering votes on the same topic.
I came across your new post and merged it on to the other one, so that the votes would accumulate! The Product team reviews the top-voted posts each month so it's best if all comments/votes go on the same idea versus being split up into multiple, individual posts.
Here's the Idea Link if you want to share it with others to vote on as well:
Cheers,
Genevieve

Any information on whether or not Smartsheet will add date constraints as a feature?
-
@Choptions The link provided above has the status. I believe it is monthly that the Smartsheet Dev team takes a look at the suggestions with the most votes, so make sure you add your vote to help get it to the top of the list.

Sharing my work-around that seems to do the trick for my needs. Hope the community finds this helpful as well
- Insert a new column into sheet
- Name: Must Finish On
- Column Type: Date
- Insert a new column into sheet - Hide after adding and saving the formula if you want
- Name: End Date Constraint Calculation
- Formula (applied to column): =IF(NOT(ISBLANK([Must Finish On]@row)), 1, 0)
- Insert a new column into sheet
- Name: Deadline Constraint Indicator
- Formula (applied to column): =IF([End Date Constraint Calculation]@row = 1, IF([End Date]@row > [Must Finish On]@row, "EXCEEDS DEADLINE!", ""), "")
- Apply conditional formatting: If Deadline Constraint Indicator is 'EXCEEDS DEADLINE!' then apply this format to the entire row (apply red text and shading).
Note: Only add in a Must Finish on Date for rows that need the constraint. All other rows with dependencies can leave this column blank.
