Does anyone know why a parent would be $1 less than the sum of its whole number children?

Do you have any blank rows within the children that are not indented under the parent?

  • Hmm... There are grandchildren and great-grandchildren rows where the column in question is blank. There is also a second parent on the page whose sum of its children is zero.

  • Have you you tried increasing the decimal on all cells to get numbers that are not rounded?

You can do so by clicking the left of the two circled buttons here:

Why would I do that? To achieve what I see you would change the decimal on your parent so that it rounds to nine. But in my case it would show eight.

  • I'm not sure. The values are stored as whatever they were inputted as, even if you reduce the visible decimal. If you have explicitly set some cells to round and others to not to I could see t being the cause of your problem. If I had more information I could likely help you diagnose your issue.

For example. If I used rounding on all involved cells and did a SUM(CHILDREN()) of: 2.5 and 2.5 I would get 5 as a result, but the two cells would have been rounded to 3 visually.

    This can be seen here:

If this is not the case, providing more details would certianly help me diagnose your problem :)
