Auto refresh dropdown list

Is it possible to link dropdown list choice to a specific column in a specific sheet?

That would be really helpful to update automatically the dropdown list.

I agree - I use Named Ranges or Tables in Excel to do this all the time and it enables dynamic options, with changes or additions on the fly. One obvious example is that you could receive a list of names via a form, and then use it to create a dynamic drop down list for allocating people to tasks. Excel Tables are useful in this way because they can grow, and you don't have to predict how many entries you may have. It would be great if Smartsheet could do similar.

I like this idea. I have several workspaces with multiple sheets that use dropdown lists referencing the same list. This feature would allow me to update all the lists once saving time and potentials errors if I forget to change a list.

I forgot to mention that there already is an option in Smartsheet that would be perfect for this use-case.

The premium add-on, Data Uploader.

Thanks, you are always fast to answer. I can not have access to data uploader, I tried many way but it is not working. I'll wait answer from smarsheet admin about it.

Question: does data uploader will allow to put names in a drowpdown list cell and add new entry automatically?

The column with dropdowlist (customer name) is in more than 5 sheets. My goal is to update all those list automatically when the customer name is not existing.
