The way I would do that is to submit the form and then go back to the previous page, update submit again, and repeat. (the values submitted last will be filled in already)

New to Smartsheets, but unless I'm missing something in setting it up this way…For your secondary form, under settings set it up as below with a copy of the secondary form link in the message. If anyone can think of a reason this doesn't work, please let me know. Thanks.
