Need a Formula to Update a Checkbox when Character Limit is Reached in a Cell

Hey guys! We're trying to use Smartsheet as one of our data collection tools. I need a formula to update a checkbox when someone exceeds the character limit of 12. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Jennifer,

Try something like this.

=IF(LEN(ColumnName@row) > 12; 1)

The same version but with the below changes for your and others convenience.

=IF(LEN(ColumnName@row) > 12, 1)

Depending on your country you’ll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.
