Show both parent and child rows in report, even if the Parent doesn't meet the criteria

I have the same struggle. We are using a gantt chart for project management. We have set up task reminders for each person on a project. Our chart has grandfather, parent and child levels. When the notifications go out, there is a row number listed and the task which is at the child level. This is not helpful at all. We need to see the parent and grandfather level in our reports. Another issue may be that we are using Smartsheet Gov. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

I am looking for the same thing as the original poster but it looks like the solutions presented were specific to those people. I want a report that looks at all of our project plan sheets within one folder and shows leaders all the tasks for their direct reports with a date. It is grouped by Project ID number since there are several projects. I want to be able to see any parent columns associated with the task assigned to one of the leader's direct reports even if it is not assigned or assigned to someone else. How can I achieve that? I have tried many different things but none of them are quite right. Below are some screenshots of my report, the report filters and grouping, and the 3 project plans it pulls from.

The helper columns add unnecessary complexity and also throw the layout of the report. Why is the same option not available as we have for filters, "include parent rows"? Would resolve this quickly.
