Hi,is there a way to modify the smartsheet view to have it docked to the side in a compact view?(more narrow?)

I do my work in excel and onenote. I put my tasks in smart sheet as I work. How can I do it without constant switching between excel and smertsheet? I would like to see smart sheet in a side compact view maybe, to add a quick tasks

Any other ideas?

thanks

    A second monitor?

  • Hello—

On a computer, Smartsheet is a browser based application. This means any size adjustments made are, for the most part, controlled by the browser. You might see what browser resizing options you have available on your computer, or, as J. Craig suggested, consider using a second monitor.

    Couple of possible ideas:

    1.  Open another browser window (right click on the google icon and choose <new window>  In Win 10 if you grab the top of the current window and "slam" it against the left or right side of your screen it will automatically fill 1/2 of the screen.  If you do it for each of the two active windows screen sessions they will perfectly split the screen and you can grab the vertical divider between the two screens and drag left / right and the screens will contract / expand in tandem.

    2.  My favorite: Create a Smartsheet form for the task sheet in question. Paste the URL of the form into your favorites folder or attach to the bookmark bar. When you have a task to enter, just hit the button, dump in the data and move on without having to switch to the Smartsheet window.

    Jeremy,

    These are very cool.

    (1) seems to work only on a single monitor, but is good to know when I am on the road.

    (2) That too is very useful. I'm going to add that to my workflow!
