Can't copy content to a new sheet
I am trying to copy content from one sheet to a new sheet and I am now getting a message that the action can't be completed because my sheet has exceeded the maximum recommended size????
It is a brand new sheet, so what is the matter? The content already exists on one sheet.

You're hitting the 200 000 cell limit so you'll have to restructure the sheet or use multiple sheets.
The limits are.
- 5,000 rows
- 200 columns
- 200,000 cells (in any combination of rows and columns)

Ok. You'll have to reach out to support. You can also attempt to recreate it through the Activity Log, but I wouldn't recommend it.
If you haven't already, I would recommend that you reach out to the Smartsheet Support Team.

Hi Terry,
How are you copying the content?
What kind of content is it?
I hope that helps!

Hello Andree,
It is a fairly standard source sheet with no formulas or anything out of the ordinary.
I select a number of rows and right click and select 'Copy to another sheet..'
This has worked fine for about 2700 rows which were copied over 100-200 rows at a time. I have probably another 1000 to move but am getting this error message that the action can't be completed because my sheet has exceeded the maximum recommended size.

Strange!
Can you share them bort and I'd be happy to take a quick look?

Thanks Andree, is there any way of recovering the deleted rows?
-
Happy to help!
Did you delete any rows? Didn't you copy them over to the new sheet?

I copied them over and then there were duplicates. I tried to go back to where I thought I had clean data and deleted the rest in order to start again. It wasn't until it had auto-saved that I realised that I had also accidentally deleted some recent web form submissions as well. You will see this on the history....a bulk deletion.
There are still duplicates showing on the new sheet. I think this may have occurred when attempting to import after a number of failed attempts. It is a bit of a mess now but the client can't afford to lose the data.
