Days Remaining from a Date

Hello!

I'm trying to calculate how many days until the Start Date. I used the following formula: =[Start Date]6 - TODAY()

What am I missing? The date column is a date type and the formula column is text/number.

Ultimately what I'm trying to do is SUM the Slot Total for everything with a start date in the next 30 days, SUM the slot total for rows with start dates between 30 and 60, and then SUM the slot total for start dates between 60 and 90. So I was originally going to use that formula to change the dates to days and then try to figure out an IF formula to SUM the slot totals for any rows with start dates in the above time ranges. Does that make sense? Thanks!
