Hello,

Can I create a bar chart and embed into the Grid layout?

For example, I have a table in the Grid layout and I'd like to reflect the data visually in a bar chart. Hopefully, the bar chart can be updated if the data is also updated.

You can't embed an adjusting bar chart into a grid, but you can display the bar chart alongside of the grid on a Dashboard.

Thank you Paul! One more question...Do you know if I can edit the Grid in the Dashboard and have the bar chart auto-update?

To do that, you would need to publish the sheet with the ability to edit. Then you would use the Published version of the URL in a Web Content Widget. This will allow you to edit the sheet on the dashboard right alongside the chart. You may need to refresh the dashboard/web browser page, but this will work for you.

I tried to embed a GRID into a Dashboard, but the layout is very funky --- the widget created a very narrow column of data that I cannot resize. Then, I read that I need to create a REPORT first if I want to show the data in Grid view. Is that correct? What's the difference between GRID and REPORT?

No. You do not need to create a report.

You first need to publish the sheet. When you publish the sheet, you are provided with a published URL. You would drop this URL into a Web Content Widget on the dashboard. This widget can be resized as needed. I do this very frequently with clients where a form is embedded using a Web Content Widget alongside of the sheet so they can view what they are entering and various charts that will update to show them the effect of their entries.
