Autofill Contacts in a New Row

When creating a new row in my sheet, I want "Column A" to autofill the contact from the cell above it. "Column A" is always the same contact for the purposes of some reports and other sheets. If I can't autofill a new row's cell with the contact from above, is there a way to create a formula that always enters the same contact when creating a new row?

So, Row 1 is "Contact A", Row 2 is "Contact A" and so on. When creating Row 3 is there a way to have "Column A" autofill with "Contact A" ?

Hi Cody,

Yes, there are a few different ways to structure it.

If you’re using parents/children, you could use something like

=PARENT() to get the contact from the parent.

You could reference another contact cell in the formula. Something like

=ContactColumn10

You can also include the email in the formula

Try something like this.

=IF(Primary@row <> ""; "email@email.com")

The same version but with the below changes for convenience.

=IF(Primary@row <> "", "email@email.com")

Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.
