sheets vs. reports - release // privacy rules

Hallo again,

in order to enable my colleagues to work with reports I had to release them also for the sheet yesterday.

Actually, I wanted them to use the report in order to fulfil the privacy rules - and because the sheet contains a lot of unneccessary information for them.

Is there a solution I can make the data in the sheet for others make unvisible - without taking away the release?

explanation:

sheet contains data from client 1 / client 2 / client 3

report only contains data from either client 1,2 or 3

What about setting up your sheets in the opposite way?

Instead of having 3 Reports, could you have 3 sheets: sheet for Client 1 / sheet for Client 2 / sheet for Client 3

This would allow you to share your colleagues just to the sheet they should have access to.

Then if you wanted to see all of the data in one place you can create a Report. You could even still Share those colleagues to the Report, because they will only see information that they are shared to in the underlying sheets. Would that work?
