Sum of Rows when rows are not "children"

I need some help - is this possible? will have a form user fill in mileage on a regular basis; I want to have a running total of miles driven - by month & ultimately by year. Since it is a form submission (with form entries going to the bottom of the sheet) it will not indent the info to have it roll up under the month as children. Is there another formula/layout I can use to accomplish this?

The indentation is not necessary to gather the running totals. What types of dates are you recording and which date(s) will the running calculations be based on?
