Hi, I have a sheet with rows that act as work instructions to people out in the field.

I attach various documents they need to do their jobs together with location and a map etc.

I now need to add a client physical signature somehow and I don't know how to accomplish it.

I don't want them to have to print a piece of paper and then photograph it.

I want the client to be able to use their finger to sign on the phone / tablet.

I could add a column to the sheet that has a hyperlink to another app - not sure what app does this though?

Or is there another alternative I haven't thought of?

Hi Aaron,

Where do you want to add the signature?

There are a couple of options. Here are a few.

Send the row to yourself, print/export to pdf and sign in DocuSign, device or similar
Print/Export, the sheet, sign in DocuSign, device or similar
Take a screenshot, sign in DocuSign, device or similar
Check a box, and trigger automation in a 3rd party service like Zapier connected to DocuSign or similar

What do you think? Would any of these options help/work?

Hi Andree,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I don't think this covers my needs. I send an automated update request to our person on site and collect photographs and comments. At the same time I want to capture the clients signature.

Is this possible in some way?

Happy to help!

The simplest method would probably be to take a screenshot and sign that and then save it to the row in Smartsheet.

Would that work?
