Creating a Sheet from Excel

I pulled an Excel file into a sheet to create a new smartsheet. after doing so, I made a report for myself to help analyze the data. The sheet no longer has any of the information that I inputted form the original Excel file, but I can still change the parameters in my report. Has anyone had this issue?
