It depends on your setup and how users are changing the values. Can you provide more detail into your setup and process?

The general idea is that some requests will require an extension. The extension column is yes or no. Right now the column appears blank unless someone changes it to yes or no. We would like it to automatically appear as no with the option to change it to yes.
We also have a date received and a due date column. The due date column is automatically updated based on the date received column. If "yes" is chosen under extension taken the due date column is automatically extended an extra X days.
Hopefully that gives enough detail.

How are users entering data? Are they submitting a form or are they manually entering data? How do new rows get added? Do you include hierarchy in your sheet?
-
We have a shared form open to public. As individuals submit the form a new row will automatically be added to the top of our sheet. Formulas are automatically updated as well so everything always auto calculates as a new row is added.
No hierarchy in our sheet.
