Imported Data not Matching Up to Columns in Smartsheet
Hi. I have created a smartsheet. I have also created a form, that will contain excel based data to be imported into the SS. Here are the steps I've taken:
*from SS, click on File>Import>Import Excel>Select the file>Continue>see a Message Box with Column Headers. I click on the row that contains Column headers>Import>Form opens.
I then look at the SS and the info has not populated. I have triple checked that the column headers in the excel file are identical to the columns in the SS. I also heard that sometimes data doesnt load directly under the last entry, so I scrolled down and it's not being entered (although the 1st time I tried this, data loaded, but the data didn't match up). What am I missing?? Help!

Not sure I follow!
Are you trying to import an Excel file and it creates a new sheet, but there isn’t anything in it?
I'd be happy to take a quick look.
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

Hi @Andrée Starå I was told that when you "import", a new sheet will be created and you will just move the data from the sheet into the final Smartsheet. So when I hit "Import", the excel file opens, with the data contained in it. I see a message box labeled "Import Settings". i click on the row with column headers, then i click "Import". I then see the excel sheet again and the data has not transferred to the smartsheet
I'm trying to move the data from the Form to my Smartsheet. Does that make sense?

That looks like it's working as intended, or is there more information in the excel file?

Thanks. The info in the excel sheet is what i want to transfer to my "destination" sheet. How do I make that leap from the newly created form to my smartsheet? I feel like it's something probably very simple, but I'm new to this!

You can either copy and paste or copy the row(s) to the destination sheet.
