My company is very interested in using the Skype for Business integration, but we have the on-premisis version of Skype.  Is there any work-arounds or plans in the roadmap for the integration to be compatible with on-premises versions in the future?

We do not have plans at this time to integrate with an on-premise version of Skype for Busines Server (formerly Lync). There are a couple of reasons for this:

    1. Customers that we have talked to using an on-premise version of Skype for Business Server or Lync have strict security policies and allowing integration with a Cloud-based app may not be permitted under their IT Department's Security Policy.

    2. Many customers that we talk to that are currently using on-premise Skype for Business Server or Lync already have a plans to migrate to Skype for Business Online in the coming year or so. We also have a strong partnership with Microsoft and the Skype for Business team. If we can be helpful in connecting your company with the appropriate people at Microsoft to learn more about transitioning to Skype for Business Online, please let us know using the following form:  https://www.smartsheet.com/skype-for-business

However, I have recorded an enhancement request to support on-premise Skype for Business Server on your behalf.

Thanks for your feedback and question,
