#Incorrect Argument Set

Hello,

I am trying to create a formula to count all items in a column with a particular status. I start typing the formula and the minute I click on the column name, I get this error. I cannot event finish typing out the formula.

What am I missing.

Smartsheet doesn't allow for that (the clicking of the Column Name), like Excel does. You will need to either type out the name of the column, surrounded by brackets ex [Status]. To reference the whole column and make it absolute, you will need to make it as [Status]:[Status] OR select the first cell in the column and drag down to the last cell in the column.

To add to John's excellent advice.

You can click on one of the cells in the column instead and then delete the row number and add : and click on the same column again to get the column range.
