Index/Match IF certain year
Hi,
I am trying to populate a separate sheet with the Projected Fees by year. For example, I would like to populate a 2020 column with the Projected Fees from 2020, matched to the appropriate Client. I have tried different versions of INDEX/MATCH but not working. I would like to INDEX the Projected Fee and the Year (2020) to get Client A, $30,000 and Client D, $10,000.
I have attached a sample grid below. Thanks in advance.

Hi @SLUGGO
You’d use a cross-sheet SUMIFS formula instead for that.
Make sense?
Did that work?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Thank you for the quick response. I don't think I explained my issue correctly. I would like to have the second sheet contain the formula that automatically fills the "Projected Fee" for the appropriate year when it is entered in the master sheet. I'm thinking this is a very simple fix but I cannot get past it. I've tried this formula but obviously not working: =INDEX({Projected Fee}, {Year}, "2020", MATCH([Clients]@row, {Clients}, 0)). I've also tried to add the IF function for the Year but no success. I cannot attach the actual sheets but the below samples should show what I'm trying to do. The first is the master sheet and the second is where I would like the "Projected Fees" to be placed once they are entered into the master. Thanks again for your help.

Happy to help!
Can you maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)

Hi Andrée,
I think I got it to work. Using the following formula. The only thing I need to change is the year in each column.
=IF(INDEX({YEAR}, MATCH([File Name]@row, {FILE NAME}, 0)) = 2020, INDEX({PROJECTED FEE}, MATCH([File Name]@row, {FILE NAME}, 0)))
