Is following a conversation a new hidden feature?

I'm pretty sure today was the first time I've seen one of these notifications (pictured below). How does one begin to "follow" a conversation on a Smartsheet task? Until now, I thought one had to be manually tagged using the "@" feature. I don't see a "follow" opt-in button, but I do see on the automated notification that you can "Unfollow"...

It was a feature released at Engage last week. I believe any conversation you participate you are "auto following", but you can unfollow by clicking on the three dot menu next to the conversation and selecting "Unfollow Thread"

Presumably it works the same way for following a conversation you aren't already a part of. Click on the three dots and click "Follow Thread".
