Date formulas
I am very new to this and don't work with formulas often. I am trying to create a formula that will update the finish date automatically based on a given timeframe. For example start date is 10/12 next column gives time expected to complete task 6 weeks. I want to create a formula that will autofill the completion date in the next column. This in turn will autofill in the gantt chart calendar based on the template i'm using.
Thanks,
Aaron

If you have two date columns (of type date) and one duration column, you can use Smartsheet's built in capabilities for project management to do what you need without any formulas.
In this example, I have a sheet with Task, Start Date, Duration, and End Date.
Right click in any column header and select Edit Project Settings...
Then make sure your Start and End Date fields are filled in the Date range display
Then check the Dependencies check box and make sure your Duration column is specified in the Duration column box
That's basically it. Now enter a Start Date (in your case 10/12) a duration "6w". Your End Date will automatically calculate.
I hope this helps.
