Summing up just the parents
want to do a summary field on a smartsheet that has a month for each parent and the children are transactions under each month they occur.
each parent has a column (same column as the children) that has a total for the children.
Without adding new columns to designate this is a parent, this is a child. Is there a formula now that would just be =sum(parent(column_name))
e.g. I have sums in two columns for each month of 2020 thus far. Want a summary that gives me those parent totals automagically..

You can use the =sum(Children()) to create the sum
