COUNTIF not blank

I simply want to count all of the cells in a column that aren't blank

=COUNTIF(COLUMNA:COLUMNA), "isnotblank")

This doesn't work

Any ideas?

Try something like this.

=COUNTIF(COLUMNA:COLUMNA), <>"")

@Andrée Starå I am trying to use this formula to pull information from a reference sheet. However, when I add a second countif formula it changes the first one. Can I have two countif on the same sheet?

When I change the formula for total RFI it changes my formula to match in the total completed and vice versa.

Well, the COUNT function is already couting cells that aren't empty, so...

=COUNT([COLUMNA]:[COLUMNA]) is more than enough :P

Hello,

I'm working with two sheets and want to count the non-bank cells that meet a condition. I'm hitting a wall!

Sheet 1 with the data:

Sheet 2 is where formula goes

What I need: if the Status is Active, how many non-blank cells are there in the "Direction" column?

I've tried so many countifs combinations and nothing works. HALP, please!
