using dates to send notifications

I am a smartsheet novice.

I have a list of accounts for which I have scheduled dates. Each of these account managers requires a 2 week, and a 48 hour, notice prior to the "scheduled date". How an I set this up?

To accommodate the specificity of your reminder date, you can set up a new date column called Reminder and enter the following formula.

=[insert scheduled date column name]@row - 16

Which will give you a date that is 16 days earlier than the scheduled date column. Make sure you insert YOUR scheduled date column name into the formula.

Then create an automation to fire on a specific date - choose your reminder column as the date. and set it up to notify the managers column (assuming you have them assigned in the smartsheet in a contact column.)

Thank you! so I've gotten that far. I have 5 columns. I assume I then have to set up the action to send an alert to the contact. Using notifcation 1 and 2 (just creating 2 separate workflows)

• account name
• scheduled date
• notification 1
• notification 2
• manager email

what do I do from here....?

Customize the message (blue link) to send a particular message to the user based on the notification you are sending. :) You can also click on the three-dot menu in the upper-right of alert someone to choose which cells are sent along with the message.

You'll also want to select your Manager Email column. Just make sure that your Manager Email column is set up as a contact column (You can right click on the header of that column to see what type of column it is. Change it to a contact column if its just a Text/number column.
