Limiting a column to only allow for 2 checkboxes then lock it down
I have a smartsheet where I'm wanting to give employees an option to select a date and time for training. But once a date and time have been picked by two people, I want that column to lock down, show unavailable. I'm researched conditional formatting and formulas but I am a novice at both. Help?

Hi @Brandi Whitson,
Conditional formatting and automation rules apply to rows, not columns. Don't think there's a solution for your current configuration.
How many employees do you have? Can you make columns employees and rows course date/time? Then you could add a row for FULL. If FULL is checked you could use automation to lock the row. You could also have people select from a report off this sheet. You could remove any date/time rows that were full using a report filter so employees only saw available training dates in the report. Not sure I've thought all the way through this and it is really only feasible if you have a few employees and a few training dates.
There are lots of smart people on here. Maybe someone can figure it out.
Good luck!
Mark

Thanks Mark! I'm going to try some of your ideas and dig around some more. I wish SS would move faster on adding features :)
