iterate same smart sheet set up for a new year

I have that same question. No answer so far. We have several Smartsheets that we would like to duplicate without having to export/import and then re-invite everyone that it is shared with.
-
I hope someone has the answer because it will really save time to duplicate...

1) Does Save as Template work to create the template?
2I)f you put all the common sheets in a workspace and set the sharing at the workspace level, all new sheets in that workspace can inherit those sharing settings.

Thanks, I will give it a try.

It does not work for me. I tried saving as a template and then creating a new sheet, but the template is nowhere to be found.

Jess,
Look in your Sheets folder.
If it isn't there and if you remember the Template name, the Search feature should find it.

Craig,
Thanks for that tip. I found it and I was able to create a new sheet based on the template. However, it is not shared with the people that are shared on the original. This is the most important part, because of the amount of people sharing it. It is very time consuming adding them all back every month. Am I missing a step where the new sheet can automatically be shared with those on the existing one?
Thanks,
Jess

Jess,
If you set up a Workspace and share that with users one time, then any other sheets you put in that Workspace will hve the same sharing settings.

You can also set up an entire Workspace as your 'template'. When creating a new version (Save as New), Sharing can be carried over too.

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how to set up the template to facilate reporting?
For instance, to manage smart sheet, we might need subtotal and total line for budgeting but for exporting data to create reports we do not need subtotal or total line so if it is just a flat data file it is easier to create reports from.
Any thoughts??
Thank you

Maggie,
I often create an [Exclude From Report] check box (or several, depending on complexity, but one will usually suffice).
In the Report Criteria, check that the box is unchecked.
Warning: A sheet without this column will be excluded from Reports with the criteria. Unchecked is not the same as does not exist..
Hope this is what you were looking for.
