How to dynamically populate a dropdown box

Hello, I'm new to all of this. I am wanting to have a staff database that is connected to a purchase order database. When a user fills out a form for the purchase order database I want them to be able to select the staff member from a dropdown box that is pulling unique data from the staff database. I cant figure out how to return multiple values based on a query of another db. Thanks for all your help.

A solution that could be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Data Uploader.

Is that an option?

Two other options could be the Smartsheet API or a 3rd party solution.
