Can I use the vlookup function to populate city/state and zip for events management and tax purposes? If yes, what is the formula? Thank you for your help in advance
Happy to help!
Here's a solution that I'm exploring at the moment.
Would that work?

Do you have a pre-existing table with the city/state/zip filled out? Smartsheet doesn't maintain that data for you, you would have to have a dedicated table for it.
Unfortunately we do not have a pre-existing table of all three. I have one column labeled 'Location (City/State). Can you recommend how I should track event locations? Should I have separate columns for all 3?
Do you have any working knowledge of https://developers.smartsheet.com/blog/smartsheet-maps?
@Andrée Starå would probably be better for smartsheet maps. I tend to stay away from add-ons to the program, and don't have much experience in working with them.
There are about 42k zip codes, which means that it would be rather difficult for smartsheet to hold/analyze all that info, meaning a manual solution wouldn't work so easily. I'll take a look at maps and see if i can't figure something out with that quick though
Good afternoon. Imagine if the column property had 'ADDRESS' as a function that would link to Microsoft MAPS https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/windows-maps/9wzdncrdtbvb?activetab=pivot:overviewtab
I have the address just need to map the zip code.
(Assuming you are talking about USA only) Based on simple lookup you may not be able to determine a zip code using address line as it needs a city and state (you may have multiple results) Rather it works the other way -- if you know the zip code then you can get city and state. (There are web applications and services for address lookups and Smartsheet is probably not the right solution for it). The question is what are you trying to solve for.
SK - thank you. Appreciate the follow up. Good question, "what are you trying to solve for." ... Answer, laziness?
Hi @HILDA KOSOVICH
I might have a solution.
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, [email protected])
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic day!

@Andrée Starå thank you. I will continue to investigate and work with SmartSheet on solution.
@Andrée Starå thank you but now worth the Masply pricing https://mapsly.com/pricing/ . I will enter zip codes and use other engines for the time being. thank you.
You're more than welcome!

I have several grid sheets that have SUMIF summary formulas running. I’m working on a new sheet that requires I split the date & time that are included in one column. Summary formulas I would ordinarily run on the Program Start Date no longer work. Am I correct in assuming the summary formula will not operate on a column…
On my Smartsheet, I want to count the number of lots manufactured per year based on the date of manufacture. If the date is between 1/1/2023 and 12/31/2023, give me a value of "2023", and the same moving forward in 2024 and so on. I cannot figure out what the formula will be. Can someone please advise? Thank you in advance.
I'm looking to put together a formula that outputs a status based on a few criteria. This formula should output "Denied" by default. If the [Price] is $500 or less and [ManagerApproval] = "Approved", output "Confirmed". If the [Price] is more than $500 but less than $1000 and [ManagerApproval] = "Approved and…
