Smartsheet Workflow - Notifications by user who made the update?
Simple question - I hope.
I have a workflow notification that alerts me when changes are made to my smartsheet. However, I want to exclude getting the notification when a user (aka Me), makes updates.
I don't believe it is possible or I cannot seem to find the an option for "last updated by"
column to be part of the workflow.
(I know Smartsheet is tracking it based on cell history)

Hi @DEW
Hope you are fine, if you want the alert to exclude the modification done by one or more of your sheet user you can add system column ( Modified By ) then in your workflow you can add condition to exclude it as the following screenshot:

Perfect! I wasn't thinking about it being under the auto number/system column type😀.

Hi @DEW
I hope you're well and safe!
To add to Bassam's excellent advice/answer.
Another option could be to change your Personal Settings to not include changes you've made (circle/profile in the upper right corner)
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

If you are in the middle of doing a lot of workflow building and testing, I recommend INCLUDING changes you made in sheet notifications; otherwise you'll end up wondering why your new automated alerts and update requests don't seem to be working! (Not that I've made that mistake myself, LOL, no way I ever did that and scratched my head for 3 hours, nooooope, not me!)

Haha! Good point!
Yes, when testing, keep it activated.
When not, deactivate.
For me, because I work with clients, and develop solutiions all of the time. I always have it activated.
