Changes By Multi Users

HI,

 

Cna you please confirm how one can view the changes made by other users, if that is a shared workbook?

 

How one user will know that second or third user is working on same row/column so he avoids going to those cells?

no way that i know of. The only thing i have seen is that you can look at the cell history after the fact and the system will tell you in general if other people updated data anywhere in the sheet

That means, Smartsheet stands useless and needs to develop more user-friendly functions. It quite hard to check cell history after every 5 minutes - confusing

Not exactly sure I understand.  Will the alerts function or the 'Modified by' and 'Modified Date/Time' systems columns help you?  I use alerts all the time to monitor sheets and get a report of changes.

If 4 users are working on the same sheet then how each of them will get to know that who is working on what cell/row or column to avoid hiccups.

Ok, I think I misundrstood your problem.  If your issue is conflicting edits then maybe take a look at this thread https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/true-auto-saving?page=1 .  I took from it that you should get your users to do a quick Ctrl-S/Cmd-S after each update, and that will trigger a refresh.

Can each user get any update/pop-up message or alert that a cell/row/column has been updated? Or they are supposed to check cell history after every 1 minute?

 

How will any user get to know, if they are working on the same sheet?
