Displaying a formula column in a form
Hi all
I would like to be able to display a lookup column result in a form. The user does not need to select this particular field but when a dropdown is selected in another field, it will lookup a corresponding number if a different sheet and populate the grid behind the form. I just want to display that result on the form for the user to see the corresponding number to that project. I will then give an option of a free text field if the user wants to use a different number.
e.g. When the project name is selected from the "Project" field, the "Cost Centre Lookup" result will display on automatically on the form.
Grateful for any suggestions. Thanks 😁

Hi @Fiona Murphy
Hope you are fine, Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available. You can submit a Smartsheet Product Enhancement Requests using this form.

@Bassam Khalil How is this still not a feature? This is a basic function.

Believe me, totally supports your opinion because it will offer great help for the users, but am sorry it's still not a feature.

This post is from a couple of years ago: is it still not possible to display the value of a column formula on a form? Any way around to manage this?
Thanks!!

I hope you're well and safe!
Have you explored using the URL-Query feature?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic week!

Hi @Andrée Starå, and thanks for the fast answer!
I've just checked that feature, but I don't think it can help in our case:
1) the customer is using our device to measure a value A; 2) by the click of a button a SS form opens and a value B should be auto-populated and visible to the customer
The trouble is that B depends on A, so we've created a formula column in the SS that calculates B out of the value A for each of the measurements, BUT we cannot show B on the form, for the customer to visualize what the result is and order it!!! :(
