acknowledge receipt of update request
Can anyone thing of a way to request acknowledgement of receiving an update request?
Here are the details: We are sending an update request to contacts, they have a bit of leg work to do in order to reply but we want to know that they are starting on the work. How can we ask that they indicate that?

Hi @StacyDe
Hope you are fine, Unfortunately, this feature is not currently available. You can submit a Smartsheet Product Enhancement Requests using this form.
but for now, you can do the following to check if The recipient has actually started performing the requested work by adding a system column ( modified by & modified date) and designing a workflow alert you when the modified date change that means some of the recipient's had done something on that row.

Hi @StacyDe
I hope you're well and safe!
To add to Bassam's excellent advice/answer.
Another option could be to send an initial update request that they use to indicate the start, and that would then trigger the main one so they can fill it in.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

@Andrée Starå and @Bassam.M Khalil Actually the people that are getting the update request don't have access to the sheet itself (for security reasons). The sheet is acting as a place to catch answers from the update request, so they wont be continually editing it. If I understand update requests correctly they only get one chance to submit answers/updates (right?). So I'm thinking where our first question is a yes/no question we change that to a yes/no/reviewing. If they select reviewing we trigger another update request - I just hate to send out that many emails, is there any way to allow multiple replies from one update request?
