subtract a number form another sheet

I need to subtract a number from another sheet - cant seem to reference the other sheet

please help

    You can get the cell -link value to your sheet in another cell or a so-called helper column and use that in the calculation.

    The cross-sheet formula version would look something like this.

    The Other Sheet reference is a single cell.

    =Total5 - SUM({Other Sheet})

    The sum function does bring up the ability to reference another sheet - and it works
