COUNTIF Function #INVALID OPERATION

Hello. I'm having a challenge with a COUNTIF function within my sheet summary returning an #invalid operation error. I have a text column that contains "yes" in certain cells. I want the COUNTIF formula in the summary to count the number of instances that "yes" appears in this column. I'm trying the following formula:

=COUNTIF(Upcoming:Upcoming, "yes")

Thank you for that suggestion. I used a specific range to narrow down the issue to a single cell that was throwing it off. After identifying that, the formula works correctly now. Thank you!
