Two Levels up PARENT formula

HI THERE!

Would like to ask if there is a formula that allow us to access the parent row but always the level 2 hierarchy. Normally, PARENT() solves the inmmediate parent only.

Much appreciated.

    Hi @Angel Hernandez

    I hope you're well and safe!

    You can try something like this.

    I usually add a so-called helper column called Level with the formula below, and then you can use it to identify parents and use it for conditional formatting and more.

    =IF(COUNT(CHILDREN([Task Name]@row)) > 0, COUNT(ANCESTORS()) + 1)

    Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.

    Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

    Would that work/help?

    I hope that helps!

    Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

  • Did this get resolved? I have a similar question. I'd like a formula to get the parent at Level 0 of a Level 2 task like the last column shows - but I typed that ;-)

  • @Angel Hernandez take a look at @Genevieve P.'s 7Mar2023 reply to this post. I believe she provided the formula you were looking for.
