Formula for helper column for reports

Hi all, I need to include a helper column for a report to run smoothly but am not sure of the correct formula to use.

I use indents in my primary column (see image 1)

and would like to pick up the number if the parent row (ITP01359) in order to summarise by that number. I've managed to do it using Ancestors but it won't appear in the first row (as that is the actual ancestor) - see image 2.

Can I put an additional formula inside the existing one to get the number to appear in the "parent" cell?

Try something like this.

=IF(COUNT(CHILDREN([Task Name]@row)) > 0, [PO/Invoice Number]@row, IFERROR(INDEX(ANCESTORS([PO/Invoice Number]@row), 1), ""))
