Issue, filtered columns still included in the sum

I am trying to use filters to add up only tasks assigned to filtered individuals. If I perform the filter and then do a sum of the remaining task hours to that person it is including the invisible hours that have been filtered out.

See below highlighted yellow. Should be 2 hrs not 6

Any ideas? Is this possibly a setting or??? I know if I individually select each cell rather than range I get the correct value but that is not ideal.

It's by design, so there isn't a setting, but it's possible to structure a solution in the sheet with so-called helper columns.

Have you explored using reports instead?
