Hi, guys! I am creating 2 forms - one to enter new data and another to update data on existing projects. Essentially, I want to make sure that when a user is entering a new project, user does not submit a duplicate. The forms will be called "Submit New Project Request, and the other one will be "Update Project Request".

On either new request or update request form: Is it possible for Smartsheet to tell the user "this project already exists" if one is already in the system?

On the Update request form, when updating a project, key words would be entered in the "project name" field, then the rest of the project fields would be pulled into the update form.

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts. Thanks.

Unfortunately, it's not possible now to check for a duplicate in the form, but it's an excellent idea!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Here's a possible workaround or workarounds

• Check for a duplicate in the sheet and send an update request to the submitter for them to update
• Show the form side by side in a Dashboard with a sheet/report showing what's already submitted
• 3rd-party form option

Would any of those options work/help?
